The Coming Judgement - Part 3

If you read John 17, it shows the beauty of Jesus - his love, his heart and compassion for us all. Jesus came into this world in flesh as a servant. He left his throne to show us what it means to be meek and mild and lowly in heart. He showed us through his life what it means to be humble. Jesus could have bragged about who he was/is, but he came to serve and show us what it means to serve others and not our own desires. He showed us what it means to be persecuted when we live for a kingdom that is not of this world. Whilst Christ was 100% God he was also 100% man, satan subjected him to the three categories of sin, lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, pride of life (Luke 4:1-13). Thank God that we have a High Priest that can sympathise with all that we have gone and are going through, because he was subjected to it too (Hebrews 4:15). However, he showed us we can overcome. Although we are 100% flesh, as long as we abide in him, the Holy Spirit will grow within us. Christ albeit suffered in flesh, depended on his father. Through his life he showed us that even through difficulty, we can rely on Him, as Christ relied on God. Remember, Jesus went through far worst then we could ever imagine. He could have called off the whole thing when he was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, but reading John 17, He knew and understood the cause, what it would mean for generations to come. Christ made the decision to give his life for the greater good, for us! For all that He has done, we should want to give up our worldly desires for Him. If you are saved, then you will know that we are not of this world, and therefore, we should want to imitate Christ as he calls us to be Holy like Him (1 Thessalonians 4:7). Jesus was persecuted and took on the wrath of our sinful behaviors (1 Peter 2:24), we too, must be persecuted for our walk in Christ, because the world hates all things that is of God (John 15:19).

The Coming Judgement - Part 2

In part 1 we talked about the subject of why not all christians will make it in the rapture, some are still clinging on to the world and therefore not ready for His return. It says in 1 John 2:15-17 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”

The Wilderness, The Waiting and The Restoration

I know I’ve spoken about being in the waiting a couple of times in the past, because I was in the waiting. Waiting is hard. The world doesn’t teach you perseverance or patience, the world teaches you to do all that you can to get whatever you need, even if it means you take a not so desirable route. It could be that you step on people’s toes to climb the ladder, could be that you do something dishonourable to gain something in return, it could mean you falsify something so you are a more desirable candidate, possibly sacrificing loved ones to get ahead. Whatever it is, the world teaches you to go out there and reach your goals, sometimes by any means necessary, so you can be “happy”. Things are readily available at our fingertips, and if not, the narrative is to go out and take it, even if it is not meant for you at that time. No one really wants to wait for the right time - there is an expectation that it should happen now!

Understanding why the Flood happened

We know that the Flood happened because of corruption upon the world and the sinful nature of the men grieved God. We are aware that it took one man, Noah and possibly his sons along the way to build the Ark according to the measurements and materials God told him to use. We also know it took Noah 100 years to build the Ark.

God’s Will and Esau

If we know the book of Genesis, then we know the covenant made to Abraham, that the Lord will make his descendants into a nation (Genesis 12:2) and they will be as numerous as the stars in the sky (Genesis 15:5) and the dust of the earth (Genesis 13:16).

Jesus Christ - our Shepherd

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.” Psalms 23:1-6.
